Our journey started on our wedding day - March 25th, 2006. This March marked our 6 year anniversary. As many of you know, Todd and I really have a love of traveling. We have had the good forture to be able to travel the world these past 6 years and have really nurtured our marriage. We have enjoyed many years of sleeping in on the weekends and the easiness of it just being the two of us. We knew that one day would come when we wanted to have a family and would just do it on our own time. In January of this past year when a ski trip didn't pan out, we weren't even upset. We both looked at each other and just kinda knew that we both were thinking the same thing - 2012 would be our year for a new journey to begin. A journey that didn't take us anywhere expect the comforts of our own home.
The way I told Todd I was pregnant is a really cute story and worthy of sharing. It was his birthday, February 17th, and I took a pregnancy test in the morning and it was negative. So, Todd went to work thinking that we would just try again next month. For some weird reason, I had a crazy feeling that the test was wrong and that I was pregnant. Then, I started to think that I was becoming this pyscho, and tried to rationalize that we would just try again next month. I had lunch at the house and somehow my car drived itself to Walgreens. haha. I went home and indeed my suspicions were right. It said "'pregnant." I had to wait all day until Todd came home from work. I told Todd that I had a really good birthday gift for him. So, I handed him the card with the pregnancy test in it and when he opened it, he was totally confused and asking me "what is this?" I said "what does it look like?" He said "I know what it is, but you are not pregnant." I said "Read what the test says" Then, he finally got it and we just hugged for the longest time. We were overjoyed and asked Marianne (our dog) if she was ready to be a big sister. :)
Here are some maternity pics of me 4 months pregnant.....
